YACHT CRUISE ROUTES:

To optimize wildlife viewing, Galapagos yacht trips usually follow predetermined, specialized routes that concentrate on: the Western (Isabela/Fernandina) / Eastern/Southeastern (Española/San Cristobal) / Northern (Genovesa) islands. Popular routes begin in Baltra or San Cristobal and take five to eight days, covering important tourist destinations including Santa Cruz, Bartolome, and Rabida.

The younger, volcanic islands are the focus of the Western Route (Isabela & Fernandina). Highlights include Isabela’s whales, penguins, and tortoises at Tagus Cove and Urbina Bay, as well as Fernandina’s flightless cormorants.

The best birding may be found on the Southeastern Route (Española & Floreana), which features flamingo lagoons on Floreana, blue-footed boobies on Áola, and waved albatrosses from April to December.

Northern Route (Santiago & Genovesa): Genovesa, sometimes referred to as the «Bird Island» route, is home to frigatebirds and red-footed boobies. Snorkeling at Egas Port and volcanic scenery can be seen in Santiago.

Central/Comprehensive Routes: Several boats, such as Yacht La Pinta and Isabela II, combine a variety of eastern or western islands with famous, central locations like North Seymour, South Plaza, and the Charles Darwin Research Station.
A typical itinerary Duration: 5-Day/4-Night: Concentrates on a certain area (e.g., just North or East).
6-Day/5-Night: Provides more and complete wildflife
